Ian Robertson is well known to the people of Vancouver for being someone with a strong sense of community. Recently he was recognized by BCIT with a Distinguished Alumni Award for Public Service and Service to the Community for his contributions as Park Commissioner and his work in community sports.
Ian was elected to the Vancouver Park Board in 2005 and remained until 2011. He was Chair for the Board during the huge windstorm that hit the city in 2006 and led the team in developing a restoration plan for Stanley Park and the massive cleanup that followed.
His love of Stanley Park reaches back to his childhood where he has many fond memories of coming to the park with family. He still holds these family values close to his heart and says that Stanley Park is one of the best places a family can share time together.
